Dr Sassone-Corsi is Donald Bren Professor of Biological Chemistry at the School of Medicine, University of California Irvine and Director of the School’s Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism. The focus of his work is on mechanisms of signal transduction able to modulate nuclear functions including epigenetic control. He has received many awards, including the EMBO Gold Medal, the Charles-Leopold Mayer Prize of the Academie des Sciences (France), and the Ipsen Award for Endocrinology

Dr Giles Yeo is Principal Research Associate at the Metabolic Research Laboratories, Director of the Genomics/Transcriptomics core at the MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit, University of Cambridge and President of the British Society for Neuroendocrinology. He is interested in studying how the brain controls food intake and determining how this differs between lean and obese people. He’s also Public Engagement champion for the School of Clinical Medicine and has presented a range of fantastic BBC documentaries on the subject of obesity.
