Research Summary

My research involves the study of the mechanisms that contribute to pathogenesis of obesity and associated metabolic alterations such as insulin resistance. More specifically, my interest lies in the contributing factors that lead to fat deposition or oxidation, energy expenditure and other factors that lead to increased risk of development of Metabolic Syndrome.

2) Molecular mechanisms that control energy expenditure and brown fat activation.
