My work focuses on the characterization of brain nutrient-sensing circuits implicated in the regulation of energy homeostasis.
This research is done through 3 main axes:
1. the characterization of molecular mechanisms implicated in brain nutrient detection and integration;
2. the characterization of neuroendocrine circuits engaged downstream from brain nutrient sensing to regulate multiple behavioural and metabolic effectors of energy balance;
3. the determination of the anatomical and functional relationships between distributed nutrient-sensing sites in the brain.
Current and previous funding sources include the French Society for the Study of Nutrition, the American Heart Association, the New York Obesity Research Center, the National Institute of Health and the MRC.
