2015 PublicHealth@Cambridge Network showcase

8th June 2015 @ 10:15 am - 5:00 pm

The full programme for the day will be available shortly and this promises to be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the range of public health and wellbeing research being conducted across Cambridge and explore future collaborative approaches. Our morning session explores methodologies and sources of data for public health research and practice, including Anna Korhonen (Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics) talking about natural language processing, Sharath Srivinasan (Centre for Governance and Human Rights) discussing methodologies for interactively engaging with local populations through social media and broadcasting in Africa and Cecilia Mascolo (Computer Laboratory) highlighting work on mobility modelling and geo-social data analysis.

A poster session accompanies our lunch, after which the University Vice-Chancellor will introduce our keynote speaker, Professor Dame Anne Johnson who will talk about the Academy of Medical Sciences Health of the Public 2040 project.

A session of lightning talks from early-mid career researchers takes us up to the afternoon break, and the day ends with a policy debate around diet, health and sustainability.
