The economic rate of return to publicly funded medical research is a topic of great interest to policy makers and charities alike, but is medical research a good use of the nation’s limited resources?
Jon Sussex, will describe the findings of a just-completed, MRC-funded study by King’s College London, RAND Europe and the Office of Health Economics, which provides for the first time an estimate of how much industry research and development is stimulated by publicly funded medical research in the UK.
