Jon Sussex: “The economics of medical research”

24th November 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Jon Sussex – Chief Economist at RAND Europe and Co-Director of the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research at the University of Cambridge.
Hosted by health policy think-tank the PHG Foundation, in partnership with Cambridge University Health Partners and Hughes Hall.
The economic rate of return to publicly funded medical research is a topic of great interest to policy makers and charities alike, but is medical research a good use of the nation’s limited resources?
Jon Sussex, will describe the findings of a just-completed, MRC-funded study by King’s College London, RAND Europe and the Office of Health Economics, which provides for the first time an estimate of how much industry research and development is stimulated by publicly funded medical research in the UK.
The seminar is free, but registration is required. Previous seminars have been popular, so make sure of your place by registering here.
