Masterclass in public involvement in research

Are you a researcher with ideas for a research project?
Involving members of the public, patients and carers can improve the relevance and design of your research. Demonstrative public involvement is now a fundamental requirement of many funders.
These workshops are pertinent if you are a researcher with ideas for a research project, but aren’t sure if the question is relevant to patients and carers, or if you would like some help with improving your research design for a project in its early stages.

This free event will be held in the Jubilee Room at the Deakin Learning Centre, Addenbrookes Hospital, Hills Road, Cambridge between 12.00 and 3.30 with lunch served at 12.00. The class will cover:
· Introduction to patients and the public involvement in research
· Carrying out effective PPI: practical considerations
· Research through design: incorporating PPI in NIHR applications
· PPI support available in the East of England (panel discussion).
Participants can also enrol in one workshop to share their ideas with a public involvement in research group, affording a practical opportunity to start a dialogue with public representatives about your research. These interactive meetings will be facilitated by Dr Charlie Davison , Principal Investigator and Fellow of the School of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Essex.
