“DNA methylation dynamics in human male germ cells”
Prof Jörg Gromoll; Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology, University of Münster.
Prof Jörg Gromoll is heading the Endo-Epigenetics group at the Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology at the University Clinics Münster, Germany. His research expertise includes endocrine regulation of spermatogenesis and epi-/genetics of male infertility. Currently he works on the epigenetic heterogeneity of human male spermatogonial stem cells and the impact of aging and infertility on DNA methylation in sperm. Data from experimental and clinical studies on dynamic alterations of DNA methylation will be presented.
Until recently he headed the DFG-Research Unit ‘Germ Cell Potential’ (2008-2015) and was acting as the president of the German Endocrine Society (DGE) until last year as the first biologist in the history of German endocrinology.
