Visit by GSK DPAc – Discovery Partnerships with Academia
23rd February 2015 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pmFree
Presenters: Dr Duncan Holmes and Dr Jeremy Griggs (GSK – DPAc)
Date: Monday 23rd February 2015, 10-11am, followed by networking and 1:1 sessions 11-3pm
Venue: School of Clinical Medicine Building, Cambridge Biomedical Campus
Dr Duncan Holmes (Head of DPAc, Europe) and Dr Jeremy Griggs (DPAc Leader, Biology, Europe) will be coming back to visit the University of Cambridge to present the GSK Discovery Partnership for Academia scheme.
This scheme is an innovative approach to establish and fund academia/industry collaboration in early drug discovery. Following DPAc’s visit a year ago, a number of joint projects are now underway – this meeting is an opportunity to identify the next wave of collaborations.
Please see the website (http://www.medschl.cam.ac.uk/research/office-for-translational-research-otr/) for more details about the DPAc event.
Format of the visit
· 10-11am Presentation on DPAc’s aims, explanation of how academic researchers can submit proposals for entering into a partnership, and answer any questions. This is similar to last year’s presentation
· 11-11.30am informal question and answer/networking session
· Bookable 30 minute 1:1 sessions between 11.30-3pm to discuss a specific project idea. Researchers found these very useful last time round, as the team will provide advice and feedback on any idea even if it may not be suitable for the DPAc scheme.
Places are limited, so to register for the presentation and/or book a 1:1 session please email Vicky Smallbone (email@example.com.) with your Title, Full Name, Role, Department and (if booking a 1:1 session) a preferred time slot by 11th Feb.
If you are unable to make this date but are interested in a 1:1 session please also let us know and we can coordinate a future visit.
