Hello everyone,
My name is Sarah and I am a 3rd year PhD student in Rob Semple’s lab. As many of you know, when I am not working in the lab I can usually be found in the gym or travelling to train/compete at goalball. I was born with a visual impairment and goalball has not only given me the chance to play a sport on a level playing field but has provided me with the huge opportunity and responsibility of representing Great Britain internationally.
On the 7th of May I will be flying to Seoul, South Korea as part of the women’s team representing Great Britain at the 5th IBSA World Games. This is the Qualifying tournament for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
Unfortunately, we have to fund this trip ourselves as we received no government funding. We are getting closer every day to our target and any small contribution would be hugely appreciated by the whole squad.
So, if you are able and would like to donate, please follow this link: https://www.justgiving.com/GBRWomensGoalball/
Thank you for your support and I hope to have good news to share with you all soon.
Sarah
