Cambridge Metabolomics and Lipidomics (CaMeL)
Metabolomics and lipidomics are becoming more relevant to many areas of science, and across the Cambridge area, different groups are active in this field. In a collaboration between Cambridge Metabolism, the IMS-MRL, MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit and Babraham Institute, we want to bring together everybody in Cambridge who is working on, or interested in metabolomics and lipidomics. Our series of CaMeL talks cover the methods and approaches in metabolomics and lipidomics, followed by the opportunity to meet and chat more informally over refreshments.
The talks are open to everybody including students, scientists, technicians and technologists. With the enormous breadth of science topics in which metabolomics and lipidomics are used, we want to focus the CaMeL talks on the technology, from sample prep, analysis, data processing and data analysis.

The event was attended by approx 40 people. Our speakers included Lorenz Holzner (Babraham Institute), Maria Chondronikola (IMS-MRL) and Husam Alabed, (Metabolomics and Lipidomics Core). Refreshments then followed to accompany an excellent networking session.
