Research
My research focus is on using metabolomics and lipidomics to study human metabolism and advance our understanding of the relationships between nutrition, metabolic health, and disease. I believe that establishing links between metabolites in biological fluids and tissues and disease is an important first step toward gaining insight into the metabolic pathways and mechanisms underlying disease development and progression.
An important aspect of my research is the discovery and validation of biomarkers in large-scale human studies. Characterising metabolic heterogeneity within the human population may help identify individuals or metabolic profiles associated with increased susceptibility to chronic disease and provide opportunities for earlier intervention, prevention, or delay of disease onset.
